Scott & Scott Architects is the Vancouver based architecture and design practice of Susan and David Scott. We recently noticed three beautiful restaurants with minimal and modern design they created, sparkling life and a unique atmosphere into the venues.

Kinkao Restaurant

When they designed this space, Scott & Scott Architects used materials that are economic and readily available. We admire the minimal design and the use of blue paint on the floors and on the bar. This approach kinda flips the room upside down when you first glance into it.

Customers sitting at their tables can glance into the kitchen and the team while they’re at it. Note the open space converging around a large communal table and a bar. Scott & Scott Architects worked with raw materials and have left them in their raw state or finished them in a manner of very humble construction standards.

Mister Ice Cream

Mister Ice Cream is an ice cream shop created by Michael Lai and Tommy Choi.

We love the “icy aesthetic” of the room created by the concrete ground, the brick white walls and the use of liquid nitrogen, which creates a pleasant and euphoric atmosphere while providing some sense of spectacle for waiting / salivating customers! Surely a great instagram totem for visitors!
