Taktik Design is a team of creative artists that designs efficient institutional, commercial and residential spaces. They combine close relations with clients to ensure they can create and provide designs that are pragmatic.

Their recent project was to redesign the Sainte-Anne Academy, an elementary school originally built in 1896. They were given free rein to recreate the school’s environment. Their challenge? To elaborate a design that is conform but also accommodates the latest teaching standards to be efficient for both students and teachers.

I was immediately attracted to the modern look and reconfiguration that designers chose in order to decorate the school. Everything was in place. The design simultaneously allowed to encourage children to explore and to support teachers, thanks to the color pallet the designers used to compliment the furniture. Indeed, the colour chart was developed to facilitate the orientation of the younger students. Each color indicates the student’s grade cycles and classroom floors.

I also appreciated the minimal approach, the use of monochrome and the finishing touches of bright colors, which added a lot of charm to the place.
